Our previous lawn company was doing a great job except for some creeping charlie that was slowly expanding into the yard. We gave them four years to address the issue, and their ultimate solution was to attempt to sell us on an additional viney weed program. We then made the switch to Assure. Jose promised me that they'd take care of it, but that it would take some time. The creeping charlie was dealt with in just two treatments, and the rest of the yard looks just as good as ever. I'm very happy with Jose and his team and highly recommend them.

Lawn Care Solution Treatments are done in intervals to ensure you never have long periods of weed growth between treatments or over-treating areas by applying the next application too soon. Applications are as follows Application 1: Fertilizer to help with green up after dormancy. This is added with weed control for early germinating weeds and pre-emergent crabgrass control at a high application rate. Application 2: Slow-release fertilizer with iron and weed control to keep lawn fed during this normally high growth period. Application 3: Grub control to keep your lawn safe from devastating grub damage. With weed control and fungicide to help combat summer lawn diseases. Application 4: Slow release fertilizer mixed with weed control and surface feeding insect control to keep chinch bugs and sod webworms from damaging your lawn. Application 5: Fertilizer to feed lawn during this normally high growth period. Weed control and humic acid treatment to help water retention after the dry summer. Application 6: Granular fertilizer winterizer to promote root growth before winter months and ensure a greener, healthier lawn in the coming spring. Before application, please remove any items including toys and pet mess, if possible, from the lawn. After application, remain off the lawn after any liquid application until dry. Application are rainproof after being allowed to dry. For the best results, water in all applications after weed control is allowed to dry.
Core Aeration & Overseeding The soil in our area is mostly clay. This clay soil is prone to compaction, which leads to surface water retention and keeps water and nutrients from reaching the roots. This can cause weaker, shallow roots and disease. Lawns also get heavy in thatch and can suffer from the disease, thin grass, and poor and uneven coloring. Heavy thatch can harbor harmful diseases and insects while keeping nutrients and water from reaching the soil layer. Core aeration is the single best thing you can do for your lawn to alleviate these problems. Core aeration works by pulling cores from the soil that allow water, air, and nutrients to reach roots. It also accelerates the breakdown of thatch. This can help promote root growth and ultimately lead to a healthier lawn. Aeartion is recommended at least once a year, twice for lawns with heavy compaction or disease-prone. Aerations should be done during times of root growth such as spring and/or fall. Fall aerations can be paired with seeding for best results. Before aeration, please remove any items, including toys and pet mess, if possible, from the lawn. Mark any inground sprinklers, invisible dog fences, or drains.
Mosquito Solution Take back your yard from pesky mosquitoes this year. Not only are mosquitoes responsible for annoying, bussing, and itchy bits, they also spread harmful diseases such as malaria, west nile, and the zika virus. Protect your family and yourself with our mosquito solution. By utilizing a 3-step process, we can help protect your yard this season. The first step is a walk around the property, looking for ideal areas fro mosquitoes to nest,, such as standing water and drains. We then remove this source, or if it cannot be removed it will be treated with a larvicide to keep new mosquito populations down. Then areas that mosquitoes are known to harbor during the day get treated. This includes dark shaded areas, such as under a deck and the underside of tree leavesand bushes, but not flowering plants. The solution is mixed with a growth regulator that mosquitos take back to nesting areas. This prevents new larvae from reaching adulthood and prevents adult mosquitoes from reproducing. Also, because mosquitoes can build a tolerance to repeated treatments of the same product, we rotate between 3 different products throughout the season. Although these prodcust are safe for humans and pets when used according to label, we understand some may be apprehensive towards these treatments. For this, we also offer a natural control solution that is both effective and environmentally friendly. Tips for a Better Looking Lawn
Choosing Assure Home and Lawn Solutions is your first step to a better, healthier-looking lawn. Although you can depend on us for quality services, you can implement a few practices to ensure the best results possible. Mowing and watering your lawn properly is nearly as important as the treatments we provide.
When Mowing

Maintain a healthy cut height of 3-4 inches.
Shorter cuts can scalp the lawn, cause shallow roots, and allow direct sunlight to dry out the soil, leading to more weeds.
Taller cuts can allow thatch to build up faster, shade out new growth, and restrict airflow allowing grass to stay wet, making it favorable to disease.

Keep blades sharp.
Dull blades tear the crown of the grass blade. This injures the grass allowing disease to take over, and also gives the tips an unappealing brown look.

Mulch your clippings/use a mulching blade.
Clippings are full of nutrients that break down and return to the lawn.
Side discharging can leave long strands that do not break down quickly and add to thatch.
Bagging clippings remove nutrients that your lawn needs.
When Watering.

Water lawn in the early morning.
Watering at night can leave grass blades wet for a prolonged time leading to disease.
Watering in the afternoon can allow the sun and heat to cause water to evaporate before it can reach root level.
Watering in the early morning allows water to reach root level before evaporating and allows excess water to be dried by sunlight.

Water for longer periods but often less.
Frequent short watering doesn’t penetrate soil deep enough and causes shallow roots.
1.5 inches of watering should penetrate the soil layer 6 inches deep to reach all roots adequately.
Average sprinkler system takes around 30 minutes to provide ½ inch of water.
Watering for 30-45 minutes 2-3 times per week is better than watering 15-20 minutes every day.
Periods of heat and drought may require additional watering, but periods of high precipitation may require no additional watering from you.
